Let the Good Times RollWritten and recorded way back in the musically fertile year of 1956, by the duo Shirley & Lee, this song is an evergreen, interpreted by countless artists through the years. My version owes it's inspiration to a track on the ancient vinyl album "Good 'n Dusty", a compilation of scrapped Youngbloods material released after that band had dissolved and lead singer Jesse Colin Young was on his way to what should have been (but wasn't) an incandescent solo career.

I love the melancholy undertones of Jesse's voice, which he brings even to the happiest material. It was late in the day and I was looking for a light-weight, feel-good number with which to end the session; this seemed natural. The video of my grandson, Garrison, is a fun fit with this little ditty. (By the way, in case you hadn't caught on by now, all the videos accompanying these tunes are hand-made by my talented and wonderfully creative daughter, Rene Bouchard, a fine singer in her own right, of whom I am most proud.)
